I am going to assume from this quote that you follow the Mormon or Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I just want to point out that there are many discrepancies between your faith and Christianity. This is I guess one of the first ones.
Just because God was able to use the fall of Adam and Eve to His purpose and turn it into a good thing does not make it
not a sin. Anytime you go directly against the Word of God (in this case it was spoken directly to them instead of written in the Bible first) - it is a sin. It was a choice, but it was a sin. They would not have been punished, had to repent, and then forgiven were it not a sin.
