Tooee! By all means go for it! I'm 49 and took the Safety Course a couple of springs ago... there were as many women in the class as men, and most of us were over 40! We all passed, too! I would recommend the Safety course... contact your local State Police who offer the course for free, I believe. In just a couple of weekends, we went from sitting on a 250 without moving to doing figure 8s and braking to a quick stop. Plus they gave us the drivers test there and the licesnsing process was much less complicated.
Right after I took the course, I was riding around my neighborhood practicing turns and stops, and a woman who was probably in her 50s leaned out her car window and hollered "You go girl, I wish I was you!"
Don't ever let anyone tell you that you are too old to do ANYTHING! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
