HI,

My mom had a hysterectomy due to fibroid tumors a couple of years ago. Within the past year, she has felt like she is going through the change in a big way, one of which is major hot flashes around the clock. They can actually be timed! Usually, at 6 and 12 throughout the day, lol. My mom is generally one of those people who is always cold but these hot flashes even make her kick her blankets off at night she says. She's not big on taking prescription drugs and would rather deal with the hot flashes than take any, but if there was something 'all natural' I know she would try it.

Is there anything out there besides soy?

Thanks,

Hi Chele,

Sorry, don't know how I missed your question, but here's an answer, belated though it may be...

I have a lot of articles on the menopause web site on hot flashes. There are a lot of things to do including black cohosh, flaxseed, vitamin E, exercise, and more. Finding hot flash triggers is an important thing to do. A few of these articles are [url=BellaOnline ALERT: For anti-spam reasons, we restrict the number of URLs allowed in a given post. Chele,

i use prolief from Arbonne international for my Hot flases and cronic endometreosis, it is a soy based progessterone and is the best thing i have ever used, it is right up there with my computer, in fact i might like it more. to read on it email me and i can send you fact sheets, or go to the website www.arbonne.com and check it out. i have doctors on it and alot of others that think its the best thing since sliced bread.

Black cohosh is very good for flashes as is dressing in layers. For the new user it is good to note that herbals take longer to kick in than prescribed drugs so be patient.

BTW: Hysterectomies are, indeed, instant menopause so symptoms should be no surprise.
