Sad news. Screenwriter, actor, and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Sam Shepard died at his home. He was 73 years old. I just recently finished reading John J. Winters biography of Shepard. A great read and some thoughtful critical analysis of Shepard's work. We've also lost French actress Jeanne Moreau. She died in Paris today, at the age of 89. Her last screen appearance was in 2015. Moreau worked with some of the screen's greatest directors, including Francois Truffaut, Orson Welles, and Luis Bunuel. She also had that unforgettable voice. (Just to be clear. Shepard died on Thursday but his family just announced his passing today.)
