Today, I am honoring all of the folks who sacrificed for our freedom. That includes those who stayed on the home front and kept things going. It seems natural to make some of their favorite dishes. My husband's family has long enjoyed Baked Devil's Float. I have his grandma's recipe. It is on the Sandwiches Site, but when I accessed it today, I found a glitch. I left out some crucial sugar. So, if you tried it before and didn't like it, please use my updated recipe. I guarantee that it is good. This was one of my father-in-law's favorite foods. He also loved his wife's brisket. I used the seasoning for the brisket on a chuck roast. It was extra yummy! I am refining this recipe for the Sandwiches Site.
So, what is the menu for the day?
Barbecue roast sandwiches on grilled hoagie buns
Baked beans
Sliced tomatoes
Potato chips aka crisps
Baked Devil's Float
Baked Devil's Float If you tried my Devil's Float recipe before and didn't like it, try this again. It works better when there is sugar in it! That's what makes it a sweet treat.
