I use another name when I write adult fiction because I don't want someone reading into my life with questions about the erotica I also write.

I use a pen name as well. I write erotica too. I think it's good to do that not only because of what you already said daisybun, but people expect a certain style of writing attached to a certain name.

I keep my books to Susan Kramer. Since non-fiction is true, I keep to my true name.

The only time I can think of the use a pen name for non-fiction (I'm sure there are others) is if you're established in writing on one subject and decide to write on a totally different subject.
