I finally went and got the ear candeling procedure. It was good, but not great. I felt my ears a little better, but not as clear as I expected. For those who went and got it done before...how many candels did the person use in each ear? Was it your 1st time?

Oh - I saw an ear candeling kit at GNC the other day. I remembered this posting in the forum.
I chickened out and did not buy it.

I almost bought one about two years ago but I quickly changed my mind because I was too scared. I have a lot of wax but nobody wants to clean my ears. I only use the ear dops sold in drugstore but so far it has not helped me a lot. I hear fine but when I am able to take some wax out with the tip of my fingers I hear so much better so if I could get someone (i only want someone in the health care doing it) to clean my ears it would be so awesome. My right ear is not so bad since it often has some wax come to the surface it is my left ear that does not do that so it is the worst. Sometimes it feels like I am inside a metal garbage can the way I hear because of all that extra ear wax!

I'm curious -- what professional does ear candling? I've never heard of an allergist or a doctor doing it. The most I've ever had done is when thedoc put a little ear suction thing in my ear with water in it that was squished into the ear and then released by tipping my head toward a little basin. How much was the kit at GNC?

I do not think doctors or nurses does this, people have to buy the kit then do it at home. I may be wrong though. Where I live I cannot get a doctor or a nurse to do a simple ear cleaning so I would be very surprised if they do ear candeling.
