Please feel free to post here with question and comments about anything you consider to be related to "entry-level" Wicca such as terminology, et cetera.

Wiccan Words and Their Meanings:
When you're a pagan or Wiccan, it is good to know the jargon. Here is a list of pagan and Wiccan terms and their meanings, which I will add to over time.

Wiccan Rede Full Version

When Wiccans think of the Wiccan Rede, we tend to remember the eight-word phrase that expresses the moral core of our faith, An it harm none, do as ye will. However, there is a longer poem that quotes this as its final line. The poem has had a significant influence on Wiccan culture. Here it is for your enjoyment:

What is a Craft Name?

A craft name is a name that you create and use to identify yourself within the pagan community. Think your craft name as an alias, a magical name, a witch name, or a pen name, if you wish.

Your Craft Name Protects You

Why choose a craft name? A craft name is an alias, a witch name. You don't have to have a craft name to be a pagan or to practice witchcraft, but you might want one. There are compelling spiritual reasons to choose a craft name, but its primary physical purpose is to protect you.

Your Craft Name Means Rebirth

A craft name is an alias or witch name that you create as part of your pagan identity. You do not have to choose one. But if you are thinking about a craft name for yourself, you might be interested in the spiritual concept of rebirth that lies at the heart of this custom.

Understanding the God and Goddess

Newcomers to Wicca sometimes balk at the concept of a God and a Goddess. This is understandable because Western civilization is founded upon the tradition of a monotheistic god. This article explains about the God and Goddess and the different ways in which Wiccans view them.

Why Do Wiccans Harm None

The Wiccan Rede, which is the cornerstone of morality in the Wiccan religion, proclaims, "An it harm none, do as ye will." What does this mean? Why should you harm none? How must you live your life to be in accordance with the Wiccan Rede?
