I live in southern Oregon and it has been nice during the day and cold at night. Now they say the weather is about to turn to something nasty. I was working apples when my son called to tell me the news about the weather. Took me away to the garden to pick the final goods from it and pull up the plants. I have been hoping the weather would stay nice a bit longer. I need this canning done so I can get back to crafting.

LOL, we have a greenhouse but it is strictly for the hubby's tropic plants and cactus. No room left for anything else once he stuffs it full. This year he was even giving plants away as fast as he could. We do start things early in spring so that we can partially defeat the short growing season here. Also I pick all the green tomatoes when we get to freeze time and ripen them in boxes. We sometimes have tomatoes from our garden up to December.

We also have a greenhouse here next to the North Sea in The Netherlands. Mine is for tomatoes. This year I set our 6 inch plants April 15th and got the first ripe tomato August 15th. Now, Oct. 9th I have just pulled the plants and the green tomatoes are ripening on the kitchen table. I pulled them because of a freeze warning. So yes, it is getting cooler now, but I, too, enjoy a cozy sweater.

Susan, I love your picture!

I live in the northeast part of the U.S. The weather has been warmer than usual for this time of year but the cool-down has started. Nice days but cooler and breezy, with chilly nights. We have not had frost yet so the tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant are still coming at the farm where I work. But the leaves on the trees are starting to turn colors and fall down.

Thanks Debbie and Eva, I am fortunate to be able to enjoy home-grown tomatoes from my garden this way.
