Here’s a collection of astronomy jokes for kids, adults and geeks of all ages. Laughter helps to keep us young and healthy, so see if anything tickles your fancy. (And how *does* the Man in the Moon cut his hair?)

I like this cartoon . Galileo didn't actually drop stuff off the tower in Pisa, but it makes a good story! He did show that objects of different weights fall at the same rate.

So if I dropped my laptop (which keeps crashing & won't recognise my CD-ROM backups) AND at the same time dropped my netbook (whose trackpad whizzes the cursor all around and won't connect to the wifi), they should hit the ground at the same time.

Ok, where's the nearest tower?

10 Amazing Facts about the Solar System
Our Solar System is pretty amazing. There's a planet that orbits lying down and a surprising number with rings. The Sun is losing mass at the rate of 300 million tons a minute, but it's nothing to worry about. And how did bits of Vesta end up on Earth?

Here is cartoonist cartoonist Sidney Harris's take on the Sun's mass loss.

It's Monday tomorrow. When I came across this little joke, I thought a lot of people would identify with the feeling!

This cartoon gave me a good chuckle. I don't know if I should class it as astronomy humor or supermarket humor. Certainly I know the feeling of having a machine checkout tell me that there's an "unexpected item in the bagging area" - usually when there isn't anything at all there. It's a good thing whoever supplies the machines for supermarkets doesn't program Mars rovers. If only NASA could sort out the supermarkets!

Bizarro is one of my favorite cartoonists and I thought this weather report was super.

And up is a direction too. One day I was on top of a hill with husband and daughter. She looked out to the northwest and said she could see Lleyn. Husband looked southwest and announced that he could see farther than that, because he could see Pembrokeshire. Not to be outdone, I announced that I could see farther than either of them, because I could see the Moon!
