Fibromyalgia is common in people with hypothyroid (underactive) and hyperthyroid (overactive) conditions. Widespread muscle pain can be directly caused by thyroid hormone imbalances. When it remains chronic following treatment of these however, it may be resulting from elevated thyroid antibodies. James,

I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed this article. I learned a lot. Although my thyroid has always tested normal, I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. I have prescription herbs from my acupuncturist that affect the thyroid and I have noticed improvement in energy when taking them.

I look forward to reading your future articles. And Welcome Back. I wasn't here when you were the first time, but it is good to have you here now.

Thanks Sandra, Like you, I too suffer from a FMS/CFS combination, which is why I have searched and researched it so extensively since 2003. That's great to hear that you have found remedies that help you. My Dr. helps best she can, providing me nerve pain medication prescription (Gabapentin) but it's certainly not a cure for the aches and pains. It just holds them off so I can function better. I do take natural supplements as well (B, D and E vitamins and a natural remedy called CortiTrophin® when needed) and these help with my chronic fatigue to some degree. I also make sure to work with my Dr. to keep my thyroid hormone therapy optimized. Thanks so much for the welcome and I extend my Best Wishes for continued growth and success for your Investing website!
