Solomon advises his children to listen to God's Wisdom in order to avoid the consequences of sin.

Ancient Wisdom

Did you listen to your parents' advice?

A little off topic but ancient wisdom just the same -

I made an anniversary card for my daughter and son in law. I was looking for a poetic verse to include and after browsing through my poetry books (they too are ancient history) I found what I needed in Sirach 6.

Nice article, Lynne.

Yes, I did listen to and heed my parents' advice most of the time.

I learned quickly that was the best policy; also, you learn that there is no need to reinvent the wheel. Someone has already walked down that path and has good experience to share. My mother always used to say about someone who did it their own way without heeding advice, "they don't believe lard is greasy."

I rebelled against my parents, society and everyone and everything.

I've reaped a bitter harvest, but it was my own doing.

We are responsible whether or not we like it.

Wisdom can be described as Wise-Dominion.

Wise dominion over your lower natures and of the resouces you were given at birth. i.e. time, space, health, work, money, land, etc.

I rebelled when I was in my 20s. I'm so glad that I lived through it, learned from experience and am still healthy enough to enjoy a life heeding biblical wisdom.

Yep.

I'm so glad the 20's are behind us.

I keep a Bible Quote book beside my bed, and anytime I get discouraged, I read a quote organized into topics with Evangelist underpinnings of the quote.

I will strive to look into the Wisdom section more often.

Even though years have gone by, I still feel naive and somewhat fearful.

Thank You for the Wisdom article.

My pea brain is somewhat cluttered, but Wisdom sort of has to be earned and experienced I guess.

Still striving for daily basics of Biblical Wisdom.

God is good. He often gives us the experiences we need to understand the wisdom he already told us about.

Amen.

Seems like as a Loving Father, he says, "OK, we can do this the right way which isn't going to be easy, or we can do this the Real Hard Way".

Sooner or later...

We learn.

Wish I didn't have such a hard head..

Ouch.
