A few months ago, a couple of good friends and I spent an evening where we each created our own vision boards for the year.

My vision board contained words, pictures, graphics that represented the hopes and dreams for that I would like to accomplish.

As I understand this process, those goals are to be for this year, but I walk knowing that I'm not always in control of my destiny. So, mine are goals hopefully for this year, but if not this year, then one day...

I recently made my first vision board and I loved it! I enjoyed making it much more than I thought I would - which i think was due to having a specific theme for it. I love how it came out and want to even display it.

I think the process really helped me solidify some vague ideas I had floating around in my head. I might want to use the same process again for a few other things I am creating but am a bit vague on.

I created a vision board on Facebook. It's nice, but very small. So what I did was to create a slide show using Movie Maker and with Movie Maker you can add a soundtrack so I have inspirational music to go with the images. I like it!

I have posted my priorities, my 5 year goals and my 1 year goals on a sheet of paper by my desk. That way I look it over every morning and remind myself what to work towards!

That's a good idea. I still love the idea of the seasonal almanac.

Making short term goals is helpful in tracking as once you achieve them, the confidence that builds up within yourself, benefits in achieving the long term or life goals. So taking correct decision or evaluating the decision to be correct is important for a progressing well.

That is so true, Jessica. So many books I read about goal planning emphasize how important that "confidence building" is, from achieving even tiny goals. Every little success helps bolster your spirit to tackle larger things.

I keep track of my goals via a planner , Goalforit.com and 43things.com and more recently Pinterest.

And the cool thing about tiny goals is that they add up. For example if you work on a story, one page a day, every day, at the end of a year, you’ll have a novel! The Law of Accumulation in effect!
