Anyone out there with experience in Menarche Ceremonies?

I am reminded that the time for my oldest daughter is quickly approaching and I wish to make it a significant 'rite of passage'.

What did you do special for your daughter in respect to her first?

Does anyone indulge in a monthly ritual?

Pubescent ceremonies for boys are not to be excluded if you think it will help.

Be sure to visit the daughters forum... there may be some good ideas there. smile

I'm a ways away from my own daughter's (I hope), and I remember that my mom was out of town and my best friend's mom was the one "taking care of me" so, there wasn't much of a celebration or rite of passage.

However, years later - I was really drawn to Native American spirituality and inspired to do a ritual in nature.

It might be interesting to examine different cultures and come up with something that will be meaningful to your daughter.
