from the info ive heard, tidus was sent 1000 yrs into future by sin, so, hes a dream. yuna doesnt do the final summoning and there is no final aeon. when they beat yu yevon, there is no final aeon to make another sin. the fayth stops dreaming and tidus fades. auron was an unsent so thats why yuna sent him in the end. i guess yuna didnt send tidus so thats why he fell from the airship into the water. 2 years later, yuna finds him in a spere in a cage wanting to be let out, so rikku, yuna, and paine (some new girl in ffx2)set out to find him.
i saw a trailer and the inter. end script and wha happened is somtime in the game, yuna has a dream about seeing him, then he gets shot (i dunno thats wha it looked like).
