Great article thanks. It's so interesting that all spiritual/religious traditions do have some concept of rebirth, although in some it crosses lifetimes and in others it is within a lifetime. Buddhism and Hinduism are usually associated with the cross-lifetime version (although actually the teachings are quite different between the two on the subject) but I would say they both also have the idea of spiritual rebirth within a lifetime, on the pathway to enlightenment, very similar to what you describe here.
