Making healthy food choices can help you recover faster from a cold or flu. In a totally unscientific study, I decided to apply this theory when I came down with a cold recently. The rest of my family members also were sick and they ate pretty much whatever they wanted. I strickly followed a diet high in veggies/low glycemic fruit; fish and seeds (or nuts if not allergic); whole grains; and warm fluids. LOL Sheree, I needed this info like 2 weeks ago. At age 53, I don't do well when I am not feeling like myself.

I also believe that if we don't keep our immune system up to a level that can keep out the germs, yes, we will catch whatever is out there.

I have been told that germs are around us 24 hours, 7 days a week. What determines if you get sick, is your body's ability to fight them off.

Back to what you said, diet and I will add rest and mentality. I believe it is a "package" deal and if one area is lacking - me, it has been mentally - it does affect the rest of your body.

Glad to say I think I am getting back to normal and working on not repeating the same routine again(lol). But it is hard to some days to not "overthink" life - but getting there...

Thanks Sheree, I am finally my old self today - 2 weeks. Yikes!

Making sure I am not going down that route any time soon and hoping of never(lol)
