A horrific accident happened at 4:30PM today at the Reno Championship Air Races. Vintage Plane Crashes, Killing Pilot and Others Governor Sandoval at Press Conference.

That's awful. Years ago when I was a teen or young adult there was a similar tragedy at the downtown airport in Sacramento, CA. It was also a vintage aircraft, a old jet I believe. I lived there at the time. It went down Freeport blvd. and crashed into a ice cream parlor killing children during a birthday party. Laws were quickly changed. There was never an air show at the in town airport again. It originally was the main airport in Sac before they built the one north of town.

That is so sad, Diana.
We were out at the air show yesterday and I had an ominous feeling when I looked at the grandstands and the VIP boxes. The plane crashed into the VIP boxes.
Last night my brother had a dream about one of the planes crashing at the same place. Neither one of us said anything to the other until we saw the news.
They canceled the rest of the air show for this event. Discussions will be held about future air show events there.

Oh that is awful. Have just seen it on the news here, and they said the pilot seemed to do be doing his best to avoid hitting the crowd.
What a terrible thing to happen, had never heard of 'air races' until you talked about the show yesterday Phyllis.
Bless the families of the victims, the spectators and rescue crews.

Yes, prayers go out to the families of the victims. All the witnesses interviewed said it seemed as if the pilot made evasive actions at the last few seconds to try and not hit the people.

It was so sad, Rosie. The family of the pilot was in the area and watched his plane crash. I cannot imagine the horror and shock they felt.
