I do love to read about dreams and dreaming, too! Don't have a favorite author though. I've read several dream symbol dictionaries and dream interpretation books.
I like Edgar Cayce although his readings weren't "dreaming" per se. He was called the sleeping prophet because he fell into a sleep-like state but his readings weren't true dreams. So I guess he doesn't count as a dreamer.
I love to read about historical dreams or people with prophetic dreams. Abraham Lincoln, for example, had some powerful dreams that guided him during his time in office. He made decisions based on his dreams, and sadly, he even dreamt of his own assassination.
