An article in the April 15, 2011 issue of
Entertainment Weekly contained a lengthy article/interview with Henning Mankell, author of the
Wallander novels and movies. Very interesting article about Mr. Mankell personally and what he has decided profesionally - not good news for Wallander fans!
Mr. Mankell has decided to end the Wallander series after 20 years of writing about his most popular character. He has written one last book titled
The Troubled Man, "that brings the series decisively to a close." Really makes one wonder whether Kurt survives the book or not, doesn't it.
The good news is that Kenneth Branagh is said to be currently working on three more segments of
Wallander, including one based on a new plot Mr. Mankell contributed to according to EW.
Definitely looking forward to the next series - how about you?
