Ha--great question! Ours would have been mixed up their whole lives if we hadn't done something. Once we got brave enough to take the hospital bracelets off ("Baby A" and "Baby B"), we painted one girl's big toenail with red nail polish, so we could always do a quick check. The nail polish would last for a week or more, so we didn't have to re-do it very often. Fortunately, by 6 months or so, they became distinguishable via freckles, moles, expressions, etc., and now that they are 13 years old, even some of their friends can tell them apart!
