How daring are you? Would you eat some raw fugu? Those who have tried it say it is delicious even though it makes your lips tingle a bit.

I must admit that I don't think that any food can be worth the risk of death. No matter how delicious.

Would you still eat, say, ice cream or chocolate, if you knew that one bite could kill you?

I would never try that fish.....and I suppose, although it may be hard, I could give up something that would kill me.

This made me think about how I eat rice and noodles even though I'm diabetic and it could kill me. Not one bite but still...

Why do we eat food that harms us?

I love sushi with raw fish but I don't think I would eat the fugu fish if it could kill me. But then I eat cheese which I am allergic to. Any dairy product really. It makes my eye brows and top lip sweat when I eat dairy.

Yet cheese is one of the things I crave the most. Our bodies do crave things that we are intolerant to. I craved cheese when I was pregnant with my first child. Now he loves cheese, yet my youngest son is intolerant like me, lip sweating cheese eaters.

Prawns are another thing I need sometimes. They are all I can think about. Iodine. I have an over active thyroid. At other times the thought of eating seafood does not appeal to me.

Peace

Hi Linda,

I love cheese, too. I love rice, noodles and chips...all of which wreak havoc on my blood sugar levels.

I guess I play Russian Roulette with my health in that way and had better stop! But somehow, the complications seem so far off that I keep indulging when I shouldn't.

As for fugu, I wouldn't try it. How delicious can it be when your tastebuds go numb?

If I was in Japan with a licensed chef....I would let the members of my dinner company (not my familY) try the dish. If after 15 they are not in distress, I'll try it. Just remind me to increase my life insurance just before my plane takes off....

HAHAHA! You're so funny, Iron Stomach! First of all, I love your nick. My family used to say my uncle had a cast iron stomach and could eat anything.

Second, if I have dinner with you, it only would be good manners to allow *you* to taste first! LOL.

I also like to critique my local restaurants, and I use that instead of my real name.

I wonder what it tastes like and who on Earth (the poor things) discovered you could only eat one specific part - you can imagine them all around a dinner table dropping dead - head in dish - and then one being left "oh well, I guess this part isn't poisoness" LOL -

I would never try it - I think it's silly and a bit like showing off. Plus, isn't it ridiculously expensive?
