The post about the then-upcoming solar eclipse is outdated now, so I've removed the old posts, but added a new link.

The path of the eclipse was across the southern Pacific, missing everywhere except the Cook Islands and Easter Island. Here's an interactive map if you want to take a look.

With the assistance of a BellaOnline reader, a live webcast was found. Wakayama University in Japan was on the French Polynesian island of Hao for the event.

I followed the webcast. There was some drifting cloud and it all ended abruptly at totality after some sort of problems.
