It looks like Law and Order won't have the chance to be TV's longest running drama series after all. Word on the street is that NBC has decided not to renew Dick Wolf's procedural series for what would have been a record-breaking 21st season, just a day after reports surfaced that the network is contemplating to pull the plug on Heroes. I love this show and I will not have any idea what the heck to do if it goes off the air!

It surely doesn't seem like 20yrs!!!! I Loooveee SVU & the cast- but never got too deep into the other L&O's.

I'm also a big fan of heroes!!! It was getting good again, after a a season that had me very confused eek

I wish the good ones never ended!!!

I loved the early seasons of Law & Order, but the new shows are poorly written, IMHO. "Ripped from the headlines" is a cheap way of coming up with a story line. Plus, I don't much care for the new actors like Jeff Goldblum in L&O: CI. Maybe it's time to put the series to bed. It's had a good, long run. No point in totally ruining it!

I agree that some of the newer episodes & cast leave something to be desired but I'm a huge sucker for Mariska Hargitays ability as an actress, so as long as she stayed, I'd probably watch forever. queen

Sharon Stone though?? Really?? IMHO, that was not well thought out.

It has just been announced that Law and Order has been cancelled and the last show will air on May 24, 2010.

A new series will start after that. Law and Order: Los Angeles or LOLA for short.

I would have to agree with you on the new faces the past 2 seasons. It just doesn't seem the same which is a big reason why I am sure they are folding after such a long healthy run. I'll stick with SVU but those were the only ones I liked. Especially with L&O first 5 years, they were the best so I always try to tune in when I know they are the older ones.

I have no interest in any other one.

I really like "Law and Order", but did not care for these last few seasons. I never got attached to the newest detectives or the new assistant DA, he's a jerk.

Sam Waterston was the best Assistant DA in the series.
S. Epatha Merkerson as Lieutenant Anita Van Buren was always a joy to watch.
Yes, Jerry Orbach was one of the series best detectives.
