I just posted "Are You an Unequal Money Partner?" and ended with And remember, little pitchers have big ears so don't be surprised if you hear your words and opinions coming out of those little mouths.

Do you hear your children or someone else's mimic what mommy or daddy has said?

Oh, that's for sure. Isn't that how the 'balloon boy' people got into so much trouble? Whether something is said is passing or in a discussion, we often forget about the quiet little kid sitting in the corner. :-/

My "children" are older now and I often am stunned by the words that come from their mouths. Their opinions are everthing--from politics, society, sports, music, family--are nearly identical to ours! Again, for better and for worse!

Sure makes me think twice before I spout off something not so positive. For example, I can be self-deprecating and it make me feel sad to hear my daughter and son saying self-deprecating things so I do my best to stop it.

My five years old daughter mimics me a lot. My younger brother didn't spoke a lot like her in his young age, but now it is clear that he always followed us( me and my mother) as his likes dislikes and opinions are just like me and my mother.

Yep. I think parents or any influential adult can make a huge impact on the way a child thinks. I sometimes laugh at myself (or am appalled) when I hear my mother or dads words flow from my mouth.
