I was trying to figure out what was served today - I think everyone had their favorites. I couldn't believe they sat outside in the heat - Gates and Crowley looked so dignified and Obama and Biden were so casual.

I heard that Bud lite, Blue Moon, and Sam Adams lite were served. Is that what you heard? I've never heard of Blue Moon.

I don't drink, so I don't know brands at all. But I heard that Gates didn't drink beer, so I was assuming Blue Moon was some other type of drink, like a wine cooler, perhaps.

I was surprised to see that Gates and Crowley didn't take off their jackets when they saw it would have been appropriate. Was Biden there to make a foursome?

Actually, I think Mr. Biden didn't have an alcoholic beverage.

Sorry I took so long to reply. As the Beer Fox, I wrote an article for FOXnews.com about the Beer Summit, but keep in mind that Professor Gates changed his beer choice to Sam Adams Summer Ale, not Beck's or Red Stripe, as had been his initial choice. Mr. Biden does not drink alcohol. Blue Moon is in the style of a Belgian wheat beer - Sgt. Crowley drank Blue Moon, as is sometimes customary, with a slice of orange.

ah,confusing. Great link. Thanks, Becks is well known. My husband had that on hand all the time. Now he really likes Pilsner, the Czech beer.
