Well, I have not been able to do much sewing as other things seem to take presidence! I did start this little blanket for my grandaughter a while back. I made one similar for my new grandson. I had sent this one to my mom to be quilted and she sent it back requesting that I change it some. So now it needs the larger border and I have make the binding and then I can send it back to my mom.

This is the one I made for my grandson. I do like the white border on the previous one better

I am quickly learning than I don't have the best 'eye' in chosing color combinations. What I think I would do is to put a border like the darker outside border of your grandson's on the outside of the lighter border of your granddaughter's. I do think your mother is correct - it does need a second border; but I think the second border should be dark.

My mom put a green or blue border on my grandson's blanket, I can't exactly remember which. I have a photo of the finished quilt somewhere around here. She suggested to put a different color on each side instead of one solid color for the border and to put black squares in the corners. I don't know if I am explaining this correctly or not. But I have to go and get some more material.

I'll bet she knows what she's talking about.

Have you seen that Grandson yet? I finished my grandson's quilt this afternoon - got the binding on. I don't sew much during the week any longer. After the summer!!

Hi Granny, no I still haven't seen my grandson. She has been planning on coming but now she is working and that makes it hard to get time off.

Congrats on finishing your grandsons quilt! How goes the granny daycare?

So far, so good. It's only been a week.

The graduating grandson will be here for two weeks. He has autism and, although he's doing really well, he is extra work. The other grandma and I will take turns. I wouldn't give up this time for anything.

I have been working on this for ever! It was just a stamped top and the cross stitching is what took me so long. I finally finished it last night!

Wow, it looks fantastic Connie M. Are all those wedding rings cross-stitched?
Cheerio for now

Oh!! MY!! How big is that - crib sized? Do you use it as a wall hanging? Do you have any estimate of the hours you put into it. I do cross-stitch as well, but I would never undertake a project that big.

That's going to be a heirloom so have you done all the labeling?
