In 1765, Neil Buchanan, a merchant from Scotland, purchased a tract of land and built a plantation that he named Ettrick Banks after Ettrick in County Selkirk in Scotland. Today there was a celebration of the event with pipers and clans and other groups on hand on a beautiful farm.
A lot of people came out and it was a really nice event although it was extremely hot.
