The ritual bath is an excellent way to prepare for magic and/or devotional rites:

That sounds so wonderful Trish.

I can imagine doing that as a way to just connect with your inner self. I may have to talk to you about an article! laugh

Thanks so much Michelle. I'm definitely a bath person, so I think this is a good tradition to develop. I've met people who are so high strung they say baths are a waste of time. Actually, it was one person I was related to, and we have very different personalities.

She just reminds me of people when I used to do massage therapy who were supposedly there to relax but had to keep their cell phones with them on the massage table. crazy

Email me anytime about an article.

Your article really makes me mentally relax, Trish. When my children were little I would take baths like this when they were napping and turned it into a little ritual for myself - very similar to what you describe in your article. When my children were up again, I felt refreshed and ready to face the rest of the day with confidence and a relaxed mind. It helped me to be able to focus much better on tasks at hand.

I had almost forgotten those special times for myself. Now that my kids are grown, I will once again go back to bathing in ritual splendor once in awhile rather than a rushed shower every day. Thank you for bringing this back out in my mind.

Great article!

I mentioned this briefly in my article "Sanctuary"- but I still want to do a more in-depth article with you as well Trish.

I think I need to survive this weekend first though!

Well I'm glad just reading it is making people relax. It's funny how words or pictures can bring up mental images or memories that do that.

This is sort of OT, but I have a picture of a cat my husband and I took when we were on a vacation. It was summer and the cat was just sitting on a log on the beach looking out at Lake Superior. I don't even have to see a picture of the lake to relax. I just see that relaxed cat and remember the vacation and the beach and physically and mentally start to relax.
