I was thinking about this with a friend the other day, so here is my list (not in any order, although Inner Light is my top favorite ep)
1. Inner Light
2. Darmok
3. Measure of a Man
4. Family
5. Cause and Effect
6. Disaster
7. The Host
8. A Matter of Honor
9. Parallels
10. Chain of Command
The finale All Good Things is also up there, but it kinda doesn't count. Finales are kinda their own category.
I know Best of Both Worlds is usually in people's top 10, as well as Yesterday's Enterprise, but they only make my personal top 20. I find the others I listed more compelling.

Jill, I haven't seen TNG in several years, since the local TV station stopped showing reruns every day at 4 PM, so I don't remember them. Anyway, I'm currently in my second runthrough of Deep Space 9, having recently finished watching all of Enterprise for the second time. I've been thinking of saving up to get the box set of TNG when I'm finished with DS9, you've inspired me to put that on the to-do list!

We are going to watch DS9 as a series next, after we are done with Farscape. I remember that it took DS9 a few years to get good. Around the war with the Dominion, right?

Actually, the Dominion war was the part I liked least about DS9! Different strokes....I enjoy character development stories more.
Tonight I watched episode 490 from Season 4, "Rules of Engaement". It was a Worf story, and they are always fun. I guess the war starts in the 5th season, that's later this month for me.

I would have to say of the ones you listed "Darmok" is my favorite. And I'm one of those who loved "Yesterday's Enterprise" and "Best of Both Worlds." I didn't like "Inner Light" as much.
