One of the worst ways to spend more money than you want to on Ebay is to keep bidding up an item you want.

My paticular favorite trick to avoid this is to go to Bidnip.com, they're pretty cheap, and they give you 5 free snipes to try 'em out.

What you do is decide in advance what you want to spend on something - then use Bidnip's service to 'snip' the auction. You'll either pick it up at the price you want, or you'll be free to bid again on the next one that comes along.

Bidnip will bid on your behalf just seconds before the end of the auction - and you won't be tempted to bid up the price, nor will anyone try to outbid your non-existent bid (at least, non-existent until the last few seconds!)

I'm a big believer in sniping auctions - once you try it, I suspect you will be too!
