i love this author's work, she has such a lyrical writing style. the plot's themselves i find aren't the most ground breaking ever, but they way in which she puts words on a page... it'll take you to another world entirely. i always liken her writing style to the feeling i get on a rainy day, kind of detached from my surroundings, but fantastically so. i think my favourite book by her is the alphabet of thorn. i always use that book as an example of how wonderful her writing is, as the plot is about a librarian translating some paper, not too interesting at first glance, but she'll take you away with it.

I love her! I never hear anyone talking about her at all. My favorite of hers is definitely The Changeling Sea. That is an amazing piece of work that works on so many different levels. It's almost like a long, long poem.
