BellaOnline Forums TV and Movies Children's TV Camp Rock

I spent a couple of minutes debating whether to post this in the Children's Movies forum or in this forum (since it's a movie airing on TV). In the end, I decided to put it here, since it's a made-for-TV movie.

Anyway, I personally haven't seen this myself. However, if I had had any interest in actually seeing it, all of the hyping Disney Channel has been doing over the past couple of months would have killed any interest I would have had.

From all the hype being put behind Camp Rock, I'm left with the impression that Disney is trying too hard to make Camp Rock the next High School Musica;.

So far, it appears that reviews for this haven't been entirely kind. Has anyone here actually seen it? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

We watched it last night. My daughter (10) has been going nuts waiting for it to come on!

It was pretty good. The music was very good (who would expect less from Disney), and it had a good moral (be proud of who you are, instead of being someone else to fit in).

Yes, it was this year's "High School Musical"- but that's what the kids want - and I'd rather have them watching this than some of the gross-out, no value cartoons on Cartoon Network.

Oh, I just wanted to add;

If you have a daughter in the "tweenager" category (like mine) - then you understand that The Jonas Brothers being in this movie were as big a draw as anything else Disney could have done!

These boys are "The Beatles" of this generation I believe.

I totally agree with you Michelle. We watched it as well, my daughters 5 and 6 wanted to see it so bad.

Again it is this year's High School Musical and it does have great music and a great moral! My daughters also love the Jonas Brothers, so that was another big draw for them.

And honestly, I enjoyed it as well. Though I am a sucker for a sweet happy ending movie. Myhusband knows that if a movie doesn't have a hapy ending the odds are I won't like it.
