This may be a weird question but I was thinking about this the other day- How would I feel if I wore dresses more often? I only wear dresses for special occasions and I see so many cute sun dresses. I consider myself a little overweight and this is one reason I feel the most comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt. So, I wonder, do I need to change the way I dress and in turn change the way I see myself. I envision myself a the DS or DD ballgame wearing a fun, colorful sun dress and actually feeling better about the way I look? Crazy? Maybe. What do you think? What do you do to make yourself feel better??

I'm not much of a "dress" person, I'm comfortable with jeans and shirts, and only wear a dress if I want to. To make myself feel better, I follow my heart. I think first and foremost, you have to feel more confident about yourself. For me, it's accepting the way you look that will make you feel better about yourself. Regardless of what you wear, it's the mindset of a confident person that will let you shine. Remember, feeling good about yourself starts from the inside. So love yourself and you will look good, whether you're wearing a shirt, jeans or a dress.

I was never a dress person far more pants are more practical for outside activities for most of my life, how ever my sisters in the last few years have gotten me hung up on wearing dresses. It makes me feel really good about myself some how- even though at the start I felt a bit self conscious I have grown to love feeling feminine. Now The majority of my summer closet is dresses. Most new experiences can take a bit of adjusting before you know if you like it or not.

Well, I prefer trousers and blouses, Jeans and T-shirts. as for dresses...especially when I must visit someone and on special occasions. For visits, something elegant and comfortable at the same time and for occasions...I like the Audrey Hepburn style, that is-discreet, yet marvellously attractive.

I love wearing dresses, especially during warm/hot weather. I feel more feminine and wonderful and take on an entirely different attitude when I wear dresses.

Most of the time I wear pants.
For business and when I get dressed up I wear two piece outfits of a top and skirt or sometimes a suit. I rarely wear a "real" dress.

I very seldom wear dresses, but lately I've seen so many that I like I am thinking of buying some new ones. I will stick to more casual ones and see how it goes. I've also been losing weight which makes me feel like trying something new.

Ya, nice! The quality of material + the colour! I for one, with my exasperating slim silhouette, well, i'd like to try smth mini! But it seems on this site there are only long ones!

I mostly wear jeans, but I'm making an effort to wear more dresses and skirts lately.

i like to be free and easy so that would be jeans and a t-shirt but when the occasion arises I love to do the whole nine yards.
I worked with someone that always was dressed even on Friday. She always wears dresses and heels but the best thing about her is even if she looks like a little china doll and dressed she is still not afraid to get down dirty and will help with anything. Even trying to fix the copier or changing cartridges.

I used to wear jeans all the time, but I've been wearing skirts more often lately, and I'm enjoying it.

I am definitely a dress person. I love the femininity, confidence, and feel of a well-fitted dress and heels. I also like not having to find or coordinate other pieces of clothing to make the outfit complete which makes things so much easier for me.
Am I the only one that still wears a slip? I hear that they are definitely out.

I love to dress up and wear dresses or even dress pants (think New York & Co or Express or The Limited). However, when I wear those clothes, I am usually overdressed compared to those around me and feel more awkward than comfortable because of it. I'd love to wear my nicer clothes, but when I am going to school and then to work, it doesn't really seem practical. And it's kind of odd to go to work and be dressed nicer than the boss. So, most usually I reserve that stuff for special occasions, going out, church, etc. and only occasionally wear it to work or school. Maybe if I just wore it all the time I'd get used to it and not feel so out of place, and those around me wouldn't think anything about it either because they would be used to seeing it. But I find my jeans very comfy too.
I wear slips. Esp with dresses/skirts that you can see through when the light shines just right. I also wear *gasp* pantyhose!! Or trouser socks!! And I am teaching my stepdaughter to also wear slips.

I never wear anything but dresses or skirts. I don't have the figure for trousers/pants.
I think a pretty dress makes you feel very feminine and attractive, and to my mind there is nothing more attractive than a women in a nice dress that, as she walks across the room, the skirts swirl about her legs. Again - it looks feminine.
And yet, a dress can be dressed up for work - I have several that I wear a suit jacket over and the same dress can be gussied up by wearing a sheer shirt over it as a jacket.
To me - a dress is the most versatile of articles you can have in your wardrobe!

I agree. I am a dress girl. It makes me feel modestly sexy, feminine, and beautiful. Not to mention, their is a dress for every shape, size, and age.

Im not really into dresses myself, simply because I cant find one I really like! But earlier this yr, I bought a homecoming dress for one of my cousins, and I have to say buying the dress for her, and seeing how it looked, compelled me to buy one myself I was speaking with someone on here, an editor I believe on a website I shopped on. it was www.camdendrive.com. I believe? I dont know, but if youre a bit skeptical of shopping for a dress because of your size, dont be! This website has most of there dresses in plus size dresses. I feel more feminine then ever!

Dresses really make a woman a lady. It's something about females in dresses that are oh, so elegant. I wear them all the time and they make me feel so feminine and hubbie appreciates the effort too.

I like wearing dresses. I have to admit it's more of a summer thing though. Some years I can find such cute sundresses and other years not so much.

I love dresses in the summer - but right now it's really snowy and wintry and I think I would freeze. So I wear mostly sweats

I wear them quite a bit too. It's the high heels that kill me.

It has been so long since I've worn a dress that I cannot remember when it was. If I had to bed I'd say the last time was before I turned twenty years old. It's not that I dislike it it's just that I feel more comfortable wearing pants (well jeans mostly).
