What size jump rings go through those tiny holes in the swarovkski hearts? I'd like to make a pair of earrings but the 5mm rings I purchased (online) are too thick.

The only craft/bead store in these parts is Wal-Mart. I never see jumprings there, only split rings so I have to order online.

Have you considered prong bails?

I totally agree - a prong bail would be a better option than a jump ring. These bails have two little teeth that come together, and you just slip them both into the hole on either side of the component, and then very gently squeeze both sides together with pliers.
