Let's say you had a week's paid vacation and you could only take it in your own state. Where would you go and what would you do?

I live in the Tampa area of Florida. There is so much to see and do here, but I would head off (as I usually do) to St. Augustine.

Flagler College (looks like Hogwarts), the Castillo de San Marcos, The old drugstore, The City Gates, the churches, Fort Mose, the life size statue of Ponce De Leon......so much history.......

I haven't been to the Keys yet, I would like to go there. I hear hotels are expensive so if I was getting it for free that would be my first choice.

Another place I have been that I absolutely LOVE is Sanibel and Captiva off the coast of Fort Myers.

I haven't been to San Marcos yet, I might like that one as well.
Florida has alot of places to choose from.

For Massachusetts I would:

Nantucket - just because I have not been in awhile. A bike trip around the island.
Provincetown - shopping and a seafood lunch.
Boston - Freedom trail and Newbury Street. I am in Boston almost every day but it is nice to re-discover the attraction once in awhile.
Boston Harbor - boat cruises to the islands and possibly a whale watch.
Plimoth Plantation - a little history.

And that is just the Eastern part of the state....So many places so little time! LOL

Hi!
I live in Colorado. I would check out the following for starters:

1. US Olympic Training Center - Colorado Springs, CO
2. US Air Force Academy - Colorado Springs, CO
3. Garden of the Gods a city park in - Colorado Springs, CO
4. Pikes Peak (from the top of which - American the Beautiful was written) in - Colorado Springs, CO
5. The Royal Gorge in nearby Canon City, CO
6. Colorado ski areas, many of which offer summer rides on ski gondolas to the summit.
7. Rocky Mountain National Park to see four legged wildlife.
8. For two legged wildlife, visit downtown Denver or Boulder CO
9. Grand Junction is home of some great Colorado wine country.
10. White river rafting is popular in many towns and the water this year is really high and fast.

I'd take it in the summer - probably late August. I would head right to St. Joseph and rent a beach house. I would spend the entire week sunning and swimming and walking into town to go out to dinner. I definitely need to do this soon!

Hey! Coincidence! I just returned from a great week in London with the kids and I just wrote an article about it today!

Maybe someone out there might need to visit London like us on a budget, trying to make the most of it?

If so, article here: (it was so fun!)

Yes, one day when (if!) I can afford it this is one place I'd like to return to - but this time for a food vacation! Authentic local produce, markets and cooking -- oh and sun and Chianti - bliss! I went to Sardinia once, it was beautiful but coast a bit touristy.

I live in Florida and love Orlando. Disney is truly magical, and the other parks are great as well. I also just went to Ft Myers and the beaches are phenominal.
