What high-profile cases really tug at your heart strings?

I have kept up with quite a few high-profile crime cases and a few have really stuck with me. The Laci Peterson case, Elizabeth Short (The Black Dahlia) case, Marilyn Monroe's death, and the case of the two missing girls, Holly and Jessica, in the UK 6 years ago have touched me most. I remember crying like I had lost family members.

I had transferred with my company to Nashville the year of Columbine. For some reason, myself and another girl, who transferred from Ohio, just started crying whenever they said the words Columbine, or even Colorado.

The ones that involve children are heartbreaking. There was a girl here who was kidnapped from her house. She was found later and the person who got charged was someone that the parents had rented a room in their house out too.

That breaks my heart.

Beauty B,
The case you are talking about wouldn't happen to be the case of Cecilia Zhang?

One that gets to me was not high profile, just a local case. A young teen age girl was baby sitting one night and the parents came home to find their kids sleeping peacefully and the baby sitter missing. Stephanie Condon is (was?) her name. No trace of her has ever been found and it's been - hmmm....10 years or so now. There is a suspect but absolutely no evidence of any kind to tie him to her disappearance.

High profile cases - the Natalie Holloway thing really gets to me, and anything that involves someone harming kids.
