Great article. I'm ashamed to say I haven't read this legend. It is fascinating.

Thanks Trish! I only first heard of it about three years ago when I saw a really bad Beowulf movie on tv :::Grin::: I look forward to seeing the newest version.

We just rented the newest version of Beowulf and watched it last night. I really enjoyed it. I love Neil Gaiman's work in just about anything, but I do need to read the original poem. The story we saw last night was so multi-layered. I assume the poem is that way too.

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it! Now I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing it!
What else has Neil Gaiman done that you have loved?

Honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first because it is CG, but the CG is done brilliantly. I really enjoyed Neil Gaiman's Sandman comic book series and American Gods. Next on my list to read of his (after the myriad of Pagan books I need to get to) is Good Omens (with Terry Pratchet) and Anansi Boys. I hear that the movie version of his book Stardust is good. So, that's on my list of movies to rent.
