NICE and you didn't even say anything bad too him.

I have said this before, I turn to my daughter and tell her how when she was that age, she never acted like that. I often do so loudly so others including the offender can hear me.

Its bad enough when its an out of control child but when its the parent causing the problem, thats pathetic.

For GOD'S sake, what ever happened to the beauty of a good [censored]-whipping?!!??

I learned REAL quickly that throwing a tantrum of any kind was PROMPTLY inadvisable.

Time out...pffft...that's just jacked-up neurotic denial.

My parents, even in the 70s when it was okay to appropriately smack your kid back from derailment, made my discipline private, but they sure did it. I never got a belt, just a squeeze on the arm and an occasional swat on the butt, but it did wonders for tantrums. Putting me in "TimeOut" would have been just what I wanted as a Gemini. *cackle* My folks didn't do this cheezy Time Out [censored]. We actually communicated.

Thanks, Mom and Dad.

Sorry, my last post was just reaction to mention of a tantrum.

They wonder why we don't want them...heh-heh...tantrums are such a small part. SUUUCH a small part.

Personally, I don't want the tantrums OR the 25-year commitment.

I love WORKING with kids, but on a daily basis -- oh hell no. But that's not to say that I give oodles of sympathy to those who chose to multiply. I can only hope that those who chose to breed made their decision for their own, and their kid's own, right reasons, whatever they may be.

So easy to make a baby for your own reasons; so hard to raise it properly for his or her own enrichment and fulfillment.

I rest so easily in my life without children. Peacefully, focused, hoping the charity bug will hit me soon so I can help kids less fortunate once again.

I thought of you guys today.

I had a doctors appointment, my first time seeing this doctor. I hate going to the doctor and I had some serious things to discuss, I was a bundle of nerves, not on the verge of a panic attack but close.

I was NOT thrilled when in walked this woman with a three year old. Mind you this practice did not take children, only adults. He bounced around the waiting room, went from person to person, the Grandmother (I was later to find) just sat there. At one point he asked to go in the back for some reason and off he went with one of the nurses, I think to get a drink.

I don't understand why people don't leave their kids at home. Next too me sat a woman who was there for a sick visit, she was sicker then a dog, sniffling and snorting, why have your kid (little germ factory) around that?

Someone said they prefer the teens to the babies and kids. Uh for me, OTHER way around, ESPECIALLY after reading articles like THAT! YEE-IKES!
You know what, the times my computer broke I NEVER tried to get ANYONE killed!

There was an article I read the other day about some kid whose mother pulled his Halo game and he punched her out, then barricaded himself in his room. They called the police and had him arrested. Good job too. Although I can't figure out why his father didn't just beat his a$$ and let the police deal with real stuff like, um, arresting drug dealers and murderers...

Because I am sure the Father knew that if he beat the kid, the kid would call the police himself and get the Dad arrested. I applaud parents who realize they have lost control and turn it over to the police, nothing like a little time in juvenile hall to wake up a little monster like that.

I agree!

My mum called the police a few times when my brother got really out of control (like when he tried to slash his wrists for e.g.) and he demanded to know why but he was terrifying and none of us knew how to handle him. I am glad she did so.

Who knows what he could have tried to do next?
