It's fall allergy season, and I'm relying on my trusty Neti Pot to help me out. Nothing works like it to keep my nose clear and allergy symptoms under control. The worst thing you want is a bunch of crud in your nose as we head into cold season. Gunk in your nose acts like a trap for germs.
I have serious allergy problems and my sinuses are almost always plugged up. I saw Dr. Oz on Oprah talking about a Neti pot and have been wanting to get one. My daughter and I both want to try it. If I use Flonase twice a day it almost clears up the problem but why do that if saline will do the same thing.
Several people in our family use the neti pot with great success! I've been doing sinus irrigation with an ear bulb for about 5 years and it has pretty much taken care of all my allergies. I just mix a little salt into the water and squirt it up into my sinuses.
I also saw Dr OZ, on Oprah, showing how to use a Neti Pot. I haven't come across any yet, I use Flonase, and at time predsione I suffer with severe congestion at this point I'll try anything. how does the neti pot relieve congestion?
You actually pour water into one nostril and it comes out the other rinsing your sinuses out. They give you a mixture to put in the water but it's only salt and baking soda.
