Sorry to hear about Glitz. I hope that Comet recovers.

I'm still amazed that one can get so attached to a fish. I hate losing them.

Great April, I'll be looking for the pictures myself !

About Comet, I don't think he will recover..right now I'm just trying to make him comfortable. He spends his time just hanging on top of his plant. His colors are pretty faded and his poor little belly is so swollen. I hate dropsy !

Well, Comet's residing in my planter now. Found him on the bottom of his tank this morning...I actually had a hard time telling if he was really dead or not ! He was just sitting there looking at me with that sweet little face of his....weird ! I should have taken a picture...lol...but that would have been just too creepy..lol...bad enough I'm taking pictures of them all the time when they're alive...if I start doing that after they're dead my family is REALLY going to put me away !!!

I think that I have a bad problem with my Betta, but I am not sure. He doesn't swim hardly at all. Almost everytime I see him he laying on the bottom of the bowl, but he is not sleeping like I am used to. Now he just sorta leans into the side of the bowl. He doesn't stir when I move around him like he used to. He only moves if you tap on the glass next to him. He will swim up to the top and take a quick gulp of air and then go back to the bottom and kinda float down to a laying position. He won't eat cept for one pellet of food every once in awhile. There are no signs of anything growing on him or any physical abnormalities. I don't know what's wrong, but I am afraid he might be dying. Anyone have any ideas? I did a 50 % water change two days ago, and he don't seem any better.

Ohhhh, EMG, that's so sad He looked really swollen. But now you can get another one, right?

logic - possibly swim bladder disorder? If he hasn't passed anything lately, stop feeding him for a few days, then try giving him a little peice of cooked frozen pea, cooled down. Just keep his water clean too, that will help with most anything. You will find a lot of good advice on this forum, stick around! If you do a search for swim bladder, you might pull another topic up with more information.

is it possible that it is swim bladder? I mean I have been watching him, and he is even having trouble swimming. It like he tries to swim to the surface, and then can't make it so he floats back to the bottom and tries again. He also leans up against things to lay cause he can't seem to keep himself steady. He laid on the bottom away from the side and almost fell over, but caught himself and then went to the side of the bowl. I am really worried I think he is gonna die
