Hi, I don't have roses (still alive, lol) but I would like to know if this is also the time to do general pruning (trees, etc). I always tend to cut my trees way back when they are out of control, which doesn't seem to be the proper pruning time, and it probably isn't good for them. So is THIS the time to go out and cut my trees back?

Hi Pixie,
Most trees should be pruned while they are dormant, that is, in the late fall and winter. Trees that flower in the spring should be pruned immediately after they flower. You can remove dead branches anytime. Hope this helps!
