BellaOnline Forums Home and Garden Birds I cant get my lovebird to play!

Im sorry to bother again, But I cant get my little bird to play with any of its toys, or even play with me.

BTW. How would you play with it? I can kinda play hiding-o-seek with it. But since its ears are so tiny, I have to stay close. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> . But anyway, I am trying to find more things to do with it, but I just cant find anything that is fun for my bird. What do I do? I just want to play with it. I want it to have a good time when its out, but I just cant seem to get it to play.

As I said in my answer to your other question, my lovebird doesn't play with toys either. He is happiest when he has paper to shred or when he is just sitting on my shoulder or exploring the desk.

What makes you think your bird isn't happy just being with you? You can let him watch you playing with his toys by gently ringing a bell or just moving the toys around. He may decide to do the same thing & learn to start playing.

One toy that he can play with while on your shoulder is if you make a shoulder cover for yourself & attach various small toys to it so he can be on your shoulder with little toys all around. He may start picking some of them up & playing with them.
