My Name is Adrien.. I just joined the forum here in search of some betta help. I JUST got a betta for xmas, late i know so it was more like new years. Anyway He is red but he has this funky white on him. he didnt have that on day 1 when he was put into the tank. so now im wondering if its his coloring or do i have to take him out of his tank and seperate him from the platys.

i have uploaded pictures to my photobucket so you can see better, he's hard to get pictures of.

so far its small.
I've got one fighting fish (have had 3 in the past in their own tanks

now i have a fighting fish and 5 platies in a 1.5 gallon tank, small i know but we didn't think they would all survive.

future plans -- getting a bigger or seperate tank for the platties. limited room means hexagon 5 or 15 gallon. what ya think?

Are you referring to the powder like white? That doesn't look like any disease. It's probably visible now because of the lighting in your tank. Also bettas can change the vibrancy of their colors depending on their mood.

yes that is the stuff. He hadn't changed color yet and when this popped up it kinda worried me. I havent had any that had white in them before they were always green/blue or red/purple.

Thank you for your help. i'm sure gonna be visiting here lots. i want my fishies to survive this time. I also got him in a tank with some platys. that may very well change since i heard today that platys have live babies and breed like rabbits
