I just joined about two minutes ago and couldnt wait to jump in. I've been a lurker for a few days and I couldnt wait to be part of the Doll Making forum.

I am a female in my early 40's,married with no children. We do have dogs..six of them. I love to carve, woodwork, paint and go fishing. I live in western Minnesota, USA

I make tiny lil wooden dolls. I've just started in that hobby and would love to learn more on how to dress them. I will be around with lots of questions I think.

Anyone else work with wooden dolls?

Welcome!
How tiny *are* your wooden dolls? Are they jointed at all, or all of one piece? Post some pics?

Hello and thank you for the Welcome.

I just found the Hitty doll about a month ago and have carved tiny men dolls that stand 6.25 inches tall. I dont think I'll do the Hitty doll..but maybe the country cousins of her. *grin*

I used elastic to hold the arms/legs on so they are more posable. I'm not sure I spelt that right.

I do have pictures..but not sure on how to share them in here yet. I'm all ears for explanations.. *grin*

And you might need to upload your pics to an image-hosting site like photobucket.com so that they have a URL to type in. <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Hi again.

I managed to get pix of the dolls uploaded to this site.

http://www.picturetrail.com/krazykarver

Just click on the album DOLLS

I'd love some feedback on them. Since these two are my first I could use some advice on them.

Thank you for looking.

Those are really good!
What kind of clothes did you want to give them? Painted, or cloth?

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and thought I would start out by responding to your posting. I love your dolls. I can't imagine carving them and having them be proportional also. Great job. Such talent

I agree! I think the dolls are superb! Can't imagine carving them - I'd probably cut off my finger! Love those Santas!

Hi KrazyKarver! I found your pics by accident and I stand in awe at the magic you create! In another life I did OOAK cloth dolls before they were fashionable and you have to be one of the most original and talented doll-makers around today! The pleasure you give to others is almost unimagineable, you are truly blessed.
