Did anybody else check out the ad link here at bella for this trendy summer poncho? Here's the link to make it quicker.

Its an ebay store that sells patterns, not items. Check it out, and some body puleeeez tell me what type of yarn/thread/fabric its made out of. it is quite stunning!! And check out the other patterns too.

Eva, her jessica shawl is similar to yours and also the delta crochet, which you shared a link to, with us a while back. And after finding the link here and checking out the site, I bought the delta pattern for the shawl.

Ok, somebody tell me what its made of. I gotta know!!!

I have that pattern.

The yarn used in the picture is Colinette "Giotto" Color 71 (fire). It is 50%cotton, 40% rayon, and 10% nylon.

I just finished my first one, I used Red Heart Casual Cot'n cause that is what I had here at the house.

Hope this helps.

I have that pattern also. I went around pricing the "Giotto" and talk about expensive!!! So I settled for Artful Yarns "Cinema". Much more my budget.

Hi Girls,

I don't have this pattern but it is very easy to make on your own. It is simply a regular shoulder shawl, the type that is long and rectangular, folded in half and then attached at the side. You can use any type of pattern out there.

OH MAN!!! is it ever expensive!! I found some on ebay and it was $20 for 250g, which works out to about 9oz. egad, cant afford that =(
i'm wondering though. I took a really good look at the pictures, I'll bet some thing home made could be dyed, and get a very similar product...hmmmm....i'll have to think about that.
Thanks for sharing the info. It is beautiful stuff.

mine turned out really pretty with the red heart casual cot'n yarn. The color I used is called mushroom, which is mostly brown colors in it.

http://home.earthlink.net/~bonnietriola/yarns.htm she has some pretty wonderful prices so you don't have to use a specific yarn, pick some that you like and make it. You can create the pattern quite easily, I don't have that pattern but Melissa is right, it is just a rectangle finish off, fold in half, sew top portion together and add some fringe. And yes I know the shawl pattern is very very similar to mine. On another message board she has pointed out how easy her's is and how confusing mine is!!!! If anyone wants to create one and needs help, let me know I will be happy to help.

I was more interested in the yarn than the pattern:) I was thinking it would make a fantastic afghan, or using it for the delta crochet pattern. I've been pondering it since yesterday, I wonder if I got some cotton gauze fabric and cut it into strips and dyed it, if i could get a similar effect. Using say, maybe a "Q" hook. wouldn't that be interesting??

Be sure to check for a spray dye that works fantastic. I found some in Michaels and I dyed a whole skein of Bernat white cotton yarn. It turned out beautiful and alls I did was hang it on my clothes line and sprayed one section at a time and let it dry. No vinegar, no microwave just spray and let dry.
