How many cookbooks do you own? We moved about 7 months ago, and I really trimmed down my collection while we were packing up. So I only have 17! How about you?

When we moved I had 5 large boxes of cookbooks. I tried to pack them so they wouldn't be too heavy, but they were still pretty heavy. I would be afraid to do a count! I have 3 sets of cooking encyclopedias from different eras. I also have a thing for antique cookbooks.

I've quit counting them. It's about 3 1/2 four-foot shelves worth, though. But I also have several PC cookbook programs.

Thai & Chinese - I'm not kidding. Once you have a few of the basics (red curry paste, green curry paste, fish sauce, etc) you can whip up dinner in 30 minutes (and that's only because the rice takes that long). Easy, cheap and tasty <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'm a cookbook junkie. I have a six shelf standalone bookshelf for them. I keep telling myself one of these days I'll copy all my favorites into a notebook and pitch the rest. I never do because every now and then I'll "rediscover" or discover some recipe I've overlooked before. I go through food phases ... like "everything tofu" or "ancient grains" and pour through them all over again to find recipes.
