The Food and Drug Administration said it reviewed 105 articles and other publications submitted as part of the petition but could find no evidence to support claims of the beverage's health benefits.

Pretty discouraging to hear this. . . FDA says nil on Green tea

Well, they only said that there wasn't evidence of its effect on heart disease--not that there was no benefit whatsoever. But given that mainstream medicine has been slow to accept the role of low-grade inflammation in heart disease, it's not at all surprising.

The FDA made the statement, need I say more?

I know when I began drinking green tea daily, I quit having colds, flu etc and my immune system is functioning wonderfully. That was the first change I made toward a more healthy lifestyle and I don't believe the FDA. I think they are invested in keeping people buying perscription drugs and not taking responsibility for their own health.

The FDA sometime I just wonder what they are thinking. They work for the government - so of course they don't want you to know the cheapest way to help an ailment - they want you to get addicted to useless medicine that will then lead to other problems that required medicine.....
