Share your favorite places to eat. These can be in your home town or a special place you found during travel.

My favourite places are:

Via Allegro Ristorante - This place is amazing! Outstanding food, friendly service and the atmosphere is the best! Very upscale! They know how to treat customers..
Il Fornello - great pasta/pizza varieties
Spezzo Ristorante - the atmosphere is very nice
Alice Fazooli's - good food and more of a casual atmosphere

Those are the ones' that come to mind...they are all located in or around Toronto, Ontario, Canada...

I've heard of Biagio, but have never been there...

Believe it or not; the best Italian place I have ever eaten at was in Hawaii!

It was (is?) called Auntie Pastos, is a little hole in the wall restaurant and was always packed! On the weekends the line was CRAZY! The veal parmigiana was to die for. Aaaaaaaa, I'm drooling right now.

While not usually the biggest fan of chain restaurants, I have to say that I went to Maggiano's with some coworkers and the food was amazing. It was a terrific experience with wine and lots of different options. Yum!

We love Italian. We came across this little place in South Carolina called Portifinos. It is near Myrtle Beach. We go there everytime we go visit the beach now. Sometimes twice in a week. I was disappointed last time because they don't serve lunch.

Maggiano's is pretty good. I remember the first time we went to one was in Atlanta. We walked out with two bags of left overs.

I like Sabatinos too, but Chiaparellis in Baltimore is my favorite!

Well, I live in Germany and there's this great restaurant locally called Carpaccio's. It's some of the best Italian food I've ever had.

In Vicenza, Italy, I ate at this great place called Giada's. It was super inexpensive as well.

I know Giada's! It's very good, but pricey.

One of my favorites is Reghetti's.

It's a unique 'cafeteria' restaurant. Located near the Cathedral and only open during the lunch hour. Hurry to get a seat. It is the best way to try the dishes you might order at more expensive restaurants. Tell the service staff what special of the day you would like and get your own drink. You can have a delicious meal for under $10 (with wine) and try the bolito misto or baccala.

I found a great place in Florida. Emilio's Italian Restaurants in Sunset, FL. We took my inlaws during a visit and they go back almost every week now.

I love eating at Romano's Macaroni Grill in Mobile, Alabama. The food is as close to authentic as you could get.

The Macaroni Grill is another good chain. I like the build your pasta bowl. My only complaint about the one in Huntsville is that is always too crowded .

The Como Restaurant in Niagara Falls, New York. Generations have been raised on their heaping pasta plates and legendary antipasto.

Thanks for the mention. Niagra Falls is one of those cities where tourists can get lost among chain food and bad places.

I LOVE LOVE Italian food, but there are no authentic Italian restaurants in north Alabama that I am aware of. The only authentic Italian rest. in Huntsville closed down. Boo hoo for me.

It is on Hwy 72 near the new Providence area of Huntsville (just west of the car dealerships). I don't have any information about the place yet.

Amalfi's Italian Restaurant - 2 locations in Statesville, NC owned by the same family.
Worth the trip if you are ever in the Charlotte, NC area.

They have really amazing food AND if you go even on a semi-regular basis, they will let you order "off the menu" for special occasions ...

(BEWARE: There are others restaurants with this same name in NC that are NOT owned by this family and I cannot recommend them in any way. I found out the hard way...)

Don't you just LOVE SC? I think my favorite spot is Savannah. It is a little more laid back and not as commercialized.
Paula, thanks for the heads up as I am going to go there in the next week or two.
