hi... im just wondering bcoz my keets where chilling on their perches... but its that kind of cold outside... what should i do? and... is it not bad for them to be quiet... bcoz it is so often for me to hear them to chearp... and by now while im watching them... its like the male is very concerned with the female... is it the start of my chance of breeding them?

I'm not sure what you mean by "chilling on their perches" and are you saying that they are outside in the cold? If you have them outside in the cold, they may be using all their energy to keep warm and would not be chattering normally. Of course, hopefully it is not as cold where you are as it is where I am. (-20C with lots of snow on the ground).

I have never really thought about the lowest temperature for them, any more than I have thought about the maximum temperature. Budgies, Lovebirds and Cockatiels originate in Australia and Africa where the extreme temperatures are more in the high temperatures than the low ones. They have feathers which provide insulation, but their feet have no protection. If it feels cold to your hands (you put your hands in your pocket or put gloves on your hands) if you are outside for a few minutes, I would say it is too cold for them to be outside without a heater. If you use a heater, please be careful that it does not have teflon.

I am just on my way to work in a few minutes and may re-word this to make more sense after I get home.
